REV. ANTONIO L. VILLAREALRev. Antonio L. Villareal received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC and his Master of Divinity degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary in Lancaster, PA. Ordained in his home church, Pleasant Ridge United Church of Christ, Guilford College, NC he served as pastor of Christ UCC in Jim Thorpe, PA and as associate pastor of New Goshenhoppen UCC in East Greenville, PA before becoming the senior pastor of Wentz's UCC in 1999.
The focus of his ministry in each congregation has been to explore with the members their "passion for ministry" (a term he learned from consultants several years ago). He seeks to encourage persons to discover for themselves how the Holy Spirit is calling them to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in ministry to the church. He has found this to yield exciting and wonderful experiences of ministry not only in his work, but in the life of the people of God.
Pastor Tony is married to Elizabeth "Betsy" and they have shared in over 38 years of partnership. They have two adult children, Rachel and Allison, who with their husbands Peter and Albert have provided three grandchildren: Emily, Sam and Jenna.
CIANNE LANDIS - SECRETARYCianne Landis has been enjoying her duties as the secretary of Wentz's UCC since the year 2000 as well as being an active volunteer for various church functions. Growing up, Cianne was able to travel with her parents while her father served in the Air Force and was able to live in various countries, including England, Okinawa and the Philippines. She also lived in many states throughout the U.S. It is in Texas where she met her husband, Mark, who also served in the Air Force. They have two daughters and two granddaughters. At home, Cianne enjoys reading, art, taking walks, traveling when possible, and most importantly, enjoys being with her family which includes, a cat, three dogs, and a "grand-horse".
JENNIFER SCHULTZ - CHOIRJennifer Schultz is the adult and children's flute choir director and is a regular participant in the Wentz's Chancel Choir. She is a flute soloist for various church services, including weddings and memorial services.
A graduate of the Armed Forces School of Music, Jennifer played briefly with the Marine Corps Band. Prior to that, she studied flute while a student at Perkiomen Valley High School.
Jennifer is currently employed as a music therapist for Compassionate Care Hospice.
LAURA MCLENNAN - BELL CHOIR DIRECTORLaura McLennan has been the handbell choir director at Wentz's United Church of Christ since 1991. Laura directs the Allegro Ringers (younger youth), the Vivace Ringers (older youth) and the Resounding Ringers (adult choir) at Wentz's.
Laura plays keyboard for the 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning Journey Service. Laura also coordinates the music for the Annual Patriotic Concert usually held in November around Veterans Day. Laura participates in the Flute and Recorder Ensembles as well.
Laura is currently studying jazz with jazz guitarist Randy Sarles of Sarles Music.
Laura is a Recertification Specialist for Advanced Living Communities. She lives in a house built in the 1740's with her husband, two boys, and three cats!
MARY MACDONALD - PRELUDE CHIMESMary is a life-long member of Wentz's. A native of Montgomery County, she currently resides in Bucks County. Since 1994, a central part of Mary's church involvement has focused on her participation in the Resounding Ringers Handbell Choir. Mary has served on both the Handbell Committee and the Music Committee. Her children also expanded their love of music by their involvement in the church's music ministry, including participation and leadership in the children's choirchimes. Mary assumed leadership of this group in 1999, co-directing with Donna Mower since 2000. Mary and Donna enjoy teaching young children the skills that will help them to appreciate instruments of all types. Many go on to participate in the children's handbell choir and some eventually in the Resounding Ringers. Their choir members enhance the music ministry through the youth vocal choir and other instrumental choirs. They participate in the Christmas Eve service, in special concerts, such as the annual Patriotic concert and bazaar Christmas concert, and travel to youth handbell festivals.
DONNA MOWERDonna has been co-directing the Prelude Chimes MacDonald since 2000. She has also been a member of the Resounding Ringers' bell choir since 1990. She currently serves as an Elder on Consistory and participates in a variety of other church committees. Outside of church, Donna works as a gifted support teacher in the North Penn School District where she has been employed since 1984. She has been married to Bill since 1985 and they have two sons, one daughter, a daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter. She and her family have found great fulfillment in the wide variety of music ministries at Wentz's, and she enjoys helping to introduce children to the wonderful music opportunities. Any kids in first grade and up are welcome to join chimes at any time!
JIM O'DONNELLJim O'Donnell is chairman of the Wentz's Music Committee and is active in church life, having served on both the board of Deacons and Elders of the church.
A musician with a broad range of instrumental talent, he is a member of the chancel and bell choirs, flute and recorder ensemble, clarinet and woodwind ensemble and brass ensemble. Having developed an interest in Christian contemporary music, he also plays bass in the Journey Band.
A high school instrumental music teacher for 34 years, mostly in the Methacton School District, Jim attended the Navy School of Music at Anacostia and played with the Navy Band while stationed at San Diego, California.
He holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Performance from West Chester University.
Jim maintains an active performance schedule with the Veteran's Association of Military Musicians Concert and Jazz Band, the Penn View Brass Band and ensemble and performs in various musical shows.
Jim also has an active music instrument repair business.
JUNE WRIGHT - ORGANISTJune Wright has been the organist at Wentz's United Church of Christ since 1991. In addition to leading the Congregation in worship, June accompanies the choir and soloists, both instrumental and vocal, throughout the year. June also coordinates the music for the Annual Christmas Bazaar Concert and Longest Night Service.
June has studied organ with private lessons, most recently with Dennis Elwell, Director of Music at the Overbrook Presbyterian Church. She has also earned her Certificate of Service Playing through the American Guild of Organists.
June is a full-time freelance court reporter. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, crafts, and cooking. She is the proud pet parent of a very talented standard poodle named Angel.
