ADULTS
Adults interested in developing a deeper historical and theological understanding of the Bible join together Sunday mornings beginning at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall for Adult Sunday School. Led by Art Bustard, who brings his knowledge of history and geography to the class, the group delves into Bible stories with the goal of greater contextual and spiritual understanding.

The class is attended by adults in their 30s through 80s and typically has more than 20 members in attendance.

The class is designed to spark an interest in learning more about the Bible and the people and faith described therein. A short video discussing a theological or historical theme from the Bible is typically viewed and then discussed and analyzed, bringing a better understanding for all.

Everyone has a gift and each life experience enables that person to bring their concerns and knowledge to the class with a resulting clarity that is a warming and beneficial to all. Some members of the class choose to listen while others share their questions and points of view, but each individual presence is felt and contributes to the overall quest for understanding.

We invite all those who want to continue learning and deepening their faith by developing a strong foundation to rest upon, to join us and continue the journey together.

Sunday School
The Adult Sunday School class meets in Fellowship Hall. The class normally has between twenty and thirty members who range in age from about Thirty to their mid-Eighties. The class is designed to spark an interest in learning more about the Bible and the people and faith described therein. The class normally will watch a short video discussing a theological or historical theme from the Bible, which is then discussed and analyzed by the participants in the class. Art Bustard is the facilitator and brings his knowledge of History and Geography to the class enabling everyone to understand the Bible stories in their context. He tries to point out the theological viewpoints expressed in the video, thus allowing the class to understand what is being presented and why. Past lessons have focused on the Reformation, the Journeys of St. Paul, the Historicity of Jesus, the path of the Exodus and many other historical and theological questions.

It is the interaction between the class attendees that helps brings understanding. Everyone has a gift, and each life experience enables that person to bring their concerns and knowledge to the class with a resulting clarity that is a warming and beneficial to all. Many of our attendees do not participate verbally, but their presence is felt and contributes to the overall quest for understanding. We invite all those who want to continue learning and deepening their faith by developing a strong foundation to rest upon, to join us and continue the journey together.
