Lent Is About Giving, Not Giving Up

The season of Lent is usually considered a time of sacrifice.  This year, many of us have already given up our simple pleasures including spending time with friends and family.  So, instead of giving up one more thing this year, Wentz’s is inviting you to give joy to others.

For families facing food insecurity, necessity negates niceties. We want to change that.  Help spread joy by sharing a Birthday in a Bag.  By supplying a few items to make someone’s day special, you can turn any day into a celebration!

Select a few items from the list below or others you may want to include, place them in a gift bag, and drop it off at Wentz’s any Saturday morning between now and April 3.

Suggested themes:

Birthday in a Bag – cake mix, cupcake liners or cake doilies, cooking oil, frosting and/or decorating icing, sprinkles, candles, plates, napkins, plastic ware, tablecloths, small decorations

Sweet Treats for Seniors – cake, quick bread, or cookie mix, cooking oil, small plates and napkins, puzzle books, notepad and pen

Bag Full of Sunshine – Cake, cookie, or bread mix, cooking oil, small plates and napkins, small decorations, small treats to brighten someone’s day
