Rev’s Mid-Week Thought

Now is a great time to remember that self-care is essential. I have come to realize the importance of extending kindness, understanding, and support to oneself. With so much negativity around us, we find ourselves heading down the trail of self-critical critique and judgment. However, understanding the power of self-care and practicing it will allow us to shift our perspective and approach our struggles with more compassion and empathy towards ourselves.

We must face our feelings of being overwhelmed, stress, grief, and even loss head-on. We will feel how we feel until it changes, not a moment before.

Self-care is not a one-time practice but an ongoing act of personal love and intentional effort. It involves understanding our needs and finding ways to meet them. I implore you to make a deliberate effort to prioritize self-care in your life. You will realize, like me, that by taking care of ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually, we can better care for others and contribute to creating a more compassionate and understanding world.

Breathe deeply and resist despair!
