Rev’s Mid-Week Thought

Spend any time watching the news, or perusing Facebook or other social media; it is clear most people love the acquisition of stuff. Their postings are me-focused. Look at me! Look where I went on vacation! See my new car and check out this nice outfit I bought. Even though you and I may enjoy material possessions, like nice cars, clothes, and vacations, keeping their value in perspective is essential. Remember what truly matters in life and prioritize those things instead. Focus on the love in your heart, the joy of expressing yourself, and the wisdom of your spiritual journey with God. These are the true treasures that bring fulfillment and joy.

We must remember to direct our attention toward what we hold most dear – love, peace, harmony, and goodwill. By aligning our thoughts and emotions with these qualities and keeping them at the forefront of our consciousness, we will find that our material needs are fulfilled beyond our expectations.

Make caring for your spiritual life and well-being your top priority. By practicing those things that bring you closer to God, you will live a spiritual life that brings you profound and everlasting joy. This should always remain our focus, no matter what comes our way.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8
